Collection Problems

Problems with collecting items can be handled within Remote Sampler such as

  • Barcode missing or damaged.

  • Barcode not scanning.

  • Device camera not working.

  • Missing or damaged specialist container (e.g. sample bottle).

If a collection item cannot be scanned, then press Not Scanning from the Actions menu.

The status of the collection item with the issue will be updated to Not Scanning. Each collection item is handled separately so the rest of the collection items can still be scanned.

If one of the items was not scanned, then the Collection Problem screen will be displayed with the specific Collection Item which had the issue.

Tapping the Collection Item with the issue will open the Actions menu from the bottom of the screen and will allow the user to decide whether the Item will still be collected even though it has not been scanned.

Not Scanning - Still Collecting

If the user decides to still collect the item then the status of the Item will be updated to reflect that it will still be collected. Press Collect Item from the Actions menu which will appear from the bottom of the screen.

The user will then be prompted to select the reason for not scanning the barcode or NFC tag.

Once the reason has been selected, the date and time and device GPS position are recorded against the item. The Continue button will now be enabled.

A final confirmation screen is displayed before submittal.

Tapping the Send button on this screen will send all remaining data for this job back to the Remote Sampler hub and it will mark the job as complete and remove it from the device. Only tap this button when no further changes are required to the job data.

The user will then be returned to the Select Job screen.
