Generating Courier QR Codes
Remote Sampler can also generate QR codes that allow third-party users (e.g. couriers) to move collected sample items from location to location even though they do not have the Remote Sampler app installed on their mobile devices.
Each location where sample items (e.g. sample bottles) may be collected from or dropped-off to requires a QR code to be generated in the Remote Sampler web hub. The QR codes can be printed and it is recommended that they are laminated and affixed to the collection / drop-off location in an obvious place so that it can be easily found.
To generate a suitable QR code for courier use, click on the Manage menu item on the Remote Sampler web hub menu and then click on the Custody Locations option.
On the left-hand sidebar, select the relevant options for the location. Firstly, choose whether items will be collected from this location or dropped off to this location.
If items will be both collected from a location and dropped off to a location, separate barcodes are required for each action.
Next, select both the collection and destination locations as shown in the example below.
The system will then generate a suitable location QR code.
This QR code can be printed by clicking on the green Print QR Code button shown above.
If a new location is required that is not already present in the system, please contact a member of the Remote Sampler support team and they will add the location for you.
