Static Data Download

For some Remote Sampler implementations, a large amount of static data may be required on the device to enable certain functionality in an offline scenario. When this is the case, Remote Sampler will prompt the user the first time the functionality is used to complete a static data download.

It is recommended that the functionality be tested on each device prior to live use to ensure that all required static data is present on the device.

Tapping the Start Download button on the screen will initiate the static data download after displaying several prompts to the user to warn that the activity may take several minutes.

Remote Sampler will display a running progress indicator during the activity.

Upon completion of the static data download the user will be prompted again to confirm that the activity is finished.

Note that large static data downloads are a one-off activity that only occur when a device is newly set up. Further updates only download changes to the static data and run in the background without interrupting user activity.
