The Cloud Adaptor Service

In order for the Remote Sampler system to import data from/export data to an external data system (e.g. a Laboratory Information Management System), it is necessary to install the Remote Sampler Cloud Adaptor Service (from here on: adaptor) on a server inside the customer's firewall in a location where it has connectivity with the external system in question. The adaptor is a standard Windows service that manages communications between the cloud Remote Sampler system and the customer data system. It polls both systems on a regular (and configurable) basis to:

  1. Extract scheduled work from the external data system and upload that work to Remote Sampler
  2. Extract completed work from the Remote Sampler cloud system and upload/export it to the external data system

The adaptor currently supports multiple modes of operation:

  1. Direct integration with LIMS
  2. File-based import/export via XML

Additional Modes

Additional modes of operation will be added over the coming months to add support for other data-systems and we are happy to discuss direct integration with any other third-party data system. Please contact us directly to discuss you specific needs.

General configuration settings for the operation of the adaptor are held on the cloud Remote Sampler system but all connectivity settings including usernames and passwords are stored in a configuration file local to the adaptor.
