When Remote Sampler is run on a device for the first time it will prompt for access to location information. It is important that Remote Sampler has access to this information . PLease
Select 'ACTIVATE' to be taken to the device activation screen
From here you can enter the details manually or you can scan a QR code that can be found on so that it can tag sample data with the correct location. Please tap Allow only while using the app.

The app then provides two options, Login and Activate. It is not possible to log in correctly until the app has been successfully linked to an existing Remote Sampler backend system. To begin this activation process, tap the Activate button.

Next, tap the Scan Barcode button to activate the device camera. The device will prompt for permission to use the camera for capturing images. Please accept this prompt to grant the necessary permission to the app.

It is necessary at this point to scan the New Device QR code generated by the Remote Sampler web hub portal on the Manage > Mobile Devices page. If you do not have access to this page, please contact an administrative user for assistance. |
Once the QR code has been scanned the device will read the activation details. You can choose to rescan or accept the scanned details.
Accept the scanned details and you will be taken back to the Activation screen where you will find the that activation details have been populated for you
Hit the ACTIVATE button and the device will attempt to activate. The first time this is done the device will be added to Remote Sampler hub for approval and as such you will see that the Device Activated state will remain 'No'
To finish activating the device follow the instructions found for Activating New Device via the web hub.
The device will continue to poll for its activation state and if the device as approved you will see the Activation State update to 'Yes'
Once a device is activated it will pull down configuration data. Once this is complete it will be possible to login to the application and begin using Remote Sampler on the device, tap the Accept button to save the scanned data.

The connection data will be shown on the Activate Device screen. The next step is to send a Device Activation request for approval. This can be done by tapping on the Activate button.

Once a user with access to the Remote Sampler web hub portal confirms that the request has been approved, tap the Activate button once more. The Device Activated indicator should change from REDto GREEN. If this does not happen, please ask the RS hub user to retry the request approval process.

If the indicator is green, tap the arrow button at the top left of the screen to return to the start screen and use the Login button to log into the app and start using working.
