Self-Hosting

Remote Sampler is offered primarily as a SaaS product. We host and provide access to the software required to operate Remote Sampler. Should you wish to host the Remote Sampler solution yourself please contact us for more information. The minimum requirements for running the back-end Remote Sampler services are given below.

Minimum Requirements - Self-Hosting

Hardware specifications:

  • OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit or newer

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or better

  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

  • Storage: 20 GB available space

  • Additional Notes: Minimum requirements may change in future.

Cloud Adaptor Service

Data is imported to/extracted from the Remote Sampler cloud system using the Remote Sampler Adaptor Service, which needs to be installed locally on customer hardware to allow integration with any external data-systems. The minimum requirements for the machine running the adaptor service are outlined below.

Hardware specifications:

  • OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit or newer

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or better

  • Memory: 4 GB RAM

  • Storage: 20 GB available space

  • Additional Notes: Minimum requirements may change in future.

Network requirements:

  • Internal TCP/IP connectivity to a port on customer data-system.

  • External firewall rule allowing HTTPS traffic to and from the IP address of the dedicated Remote Sampler cloud-system.


* Applications may run on lower specs but to ensure expected performance we recommend you meet the recommended minimum specs.

Mobile Device Clients

The Remote Sampler mobile device client has the following requirements.

Hardware requirements:

  • Camera

  • GPS capability

  • Network/phone connectivity

  • Phone contract with minimum of 2GB/month data allowance

  • Minimum of 4GB device storage

Supported mobile device operating systems:

  • Android

  • iOS


Remote Sampler supported versions of Android and iOS move in step with the versions currently supported by Google and Apple. The Remote Sampler may work on older versions of the operating systems but compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
